It went great!! I was in charge, along with one other mom, of the plunger relay. Each child had to balance a ball atop an upside down plunger, run around the cone and back without dropping the ball. The little kids were very cute about it. I demonstrated for them, but once we got the fourth graders, we had volunteers show the others how to do it. In all there were 15 relays set up around the field. They also had a bounce house and a DJ!! He was sooo cool, he played all the music from my generation. At one point, in the middle of our relay, a dance song came on and all the kids started dancing. They had some MOVES!! I am a sucker for a group dance so we just joined the fun. It was a beautiful day. At around 12:30 we all sheparded the kids over to a giant shady tree where 300 kids watched their teachers do two of the relays!! So funny!! And what noise the kids made - I was seriously going deaf. Afterwards, we headed inside to line the kids up for their picnic lunch boxes. The PTO had prepared sandwiches for all the volunteers (along with their heartfelt gratitude) and we devoured our lunches. Then, back to work on our ice cream sundae assembly line. I was in charge of sprinkles. I was with all my old mom buddies from previous years and we just had the best time. I absolutely loved it - Addie did too.

looks like so much fun. and a LONG day for you I think. I bet Addie was so thrilled that you were able to come.
(oh ditch the word verification thing for posts- annoying)
Looks totally fun! Jack's was supposed to be today (I got the date wrong originally) Not sure what their rain plan is. He was nervous about it. (Because he's Jack) but I showed him the pics of Addie with the plunger and told him it's silly, fun races and relays. He laughed and laughed and felt much better. Pretty sure there's no DJ though. That's way cool!
hey what happened to the pic of you?
Ugh I was trying to edit the post. I wanted to rearrange the pic format and it wouldn't let me. So I thought I was just getting rid of that extra space at the beginning paragraph and it took out my picture. I got mad and stopped and just left it.
