Comcast Antics

Ok, emailed this already to a couple of you, but needed to post. It was too good a morsel...

So we've been battling with our cable service for several months, years even. Jason's on vacation this week, and since this is his area of expertise, I finally made an appt for them to come out to fix the various problems:
  • Our cable box whines. Loudly. Need a new one.
  • No cable connection in the little den. I got the tv in there for Christmas of 08, still get only one station.
  • Weak signal for the house, meaning every other day we get no phone, no tv, no internet. Sometimes different combos, but very rarely do we get all three.
Cable appt was 8 this morning. Jason called me at 9. Cable guy gave us a new cable box. No more whining. Cool. Cable guy says they no longer do the wall hookups, they need to drill through the floor. Jason doesn't want cable guy to drill through our nice new floor. So no hook up in the little den. Not so cool. Cable guy gives us a new splitter, thinking the old one was faulty. Jason asked cable guy to fix the signal. Cable guy says he did not bring the "big van", that would have to be done another time. Again, not cool. During this whole recount, Jason is getting more and more frustrated, (and me too), but he assures me that it's probably going to be ok. Jason says he can hook up the little den tv. And maybe the new splitter will help a lot. I am not convinced and am getting PO'ed. Jason (trying to stay calm), "Everything will be alri------" Phone cuts off. No more Jason. I call back, I get voicemail. I call again. Voicemail. I start laughing. Jason calls back on his cell. Between fits of laughter I say, "Isn't that funny? You assuring me it's ok and the phone dies?!" "Yeah, hysterical. We are done with Comcast. I'm calling DirecTV."
