My current project is painting the upstairs hallway. The most challenging part has been priming the woodwork. It's going well. But that is another post - I will be updating with progression pictures. But, as I mentioned, I am taking my time, I only have Saturday mornings and afternoons to paint, so it will be a while. Anyway, since I am painting the seven (!) doors, I took off the door knobs before starting. It's something I neglected to do the other times I painted them and it showed. Whoops.
So anyway, cut to this morning - I was up before everyone else and went to the bathroom for my shower. I accidentally closed the door and locked myself in. No door knob. I tried a barrette to turn the lock. Nothing, except I broke the barrette. I rummaged through the drawer and found razors, medicine cups and ponytail holders. Nothing at all to use to open it. I decided I was stuck. I would have to wake Jason. This could also wake the kids prematurely and I do love the quiet mornings. So I leaned into the hole and whispered, "Jason." Nothing. A little louder, "Jason." Nothing. I had forgotten the vaporizer was still going in our room. Now I was in my normal speaking voice, "Jason.." Nothing. "Jason!" I heard him come over to the door while I explained the situation, and how he would need a flat head screwdriver, which was in the freezing cold basement. He ignored this suggestion and came back a couple seconds later, and turned the lock open. All he said was, "Your sewing scissors work perfectly. I locked myself in the other room a few nights ago."

hee hee- I thought he grabbed one of the knobs and opened the door. 7 doors stinks. our very little upstairs hallway- 7 ft by 3ft has 5 doors and that was annoying (for Marc not really for me). We take the doors off and lay them on saw horses to paint them.
That's pretty funny. I am not a good painter. I think I will hire the Cooks to paint my new kitchen. We can swap services. Matt can dislodge pasta from your pipes. :)
